Nano Lopez, Master Sculptor

”Nano Lopez was born October 31, 1955 in Bogota, Columbia. He was recognized early in his life for his artistic talent when he was awarded first place in a municipal school drawing contest at the age of five. By high school, he was making serious copies of the Master’s, including Michelangelo’s sculptures and paintings…”

I’m proud to say I currently own four of his pieces, two animal sculptures (which he lovingly names “Nanimals” ) of one fox, Roxi, and a cat named Jack. I also own the sketches of the nanimals before they were sculpted.

His creation process is incredible, and you can watch it here. Each sculpture can take at least 3 months to make and are all solid bronze. When you buy a piece from him, he will make it custom for you and have it shipped to your door.

An amazing artist, who absolutely deserves more recognition than he gets.

His website can be found here . I bought my pieces at an auction held by Park West Gallery. Their website can be found here.
